Lake Sominskoe is one of the deepest lakes in Belarus. It is located in the Ivatsevichi district, Brest region near the village Somino, which gave it its name. The lake belongs to the basin of Yaselda river (left tributary of the river Pripyat) and is located in the Oginski Canal basin.
A broad swampy flood plain overgrown with shrubs and woodland places formed around the lake. The reservoirs beach is mainly low and sandy. The bottom of the shallow water is sandy or sandy-muddy and deeper - sapropelic. The greatest depth of Sominskogo Lake are in the center, reaching 33.5 m.
A small creek empties into the lake from the north side, in the south side the pond is connected with drainage canals system by a stream arising from it.
The lake water is clean, clear, that attracts the lovers of spearfishing. Most often on the fishing perch, roach, bream, pike, tench and other fish species are caught.
Lake Sominskoe is popular not only among the fishermen. The farmstead Somino invites to spend a vacation on the bank away from the city - this is the perfect place to spend some time hunting, fishing, picking berries and mushrooms or just enjoying the lake.
